Application details of the ship series
📌 Ship C series polyimide foam products are used as thermal insulation and sound absorption materials on naval ships and merchant ships around the world. In bulkheads, ceilings, ventilation ducts, pipes and other locations, the use of C series foam products can achieve the ideal heat insulation and noise reduction function, and the weight is extremely light, which is several tons lighter than the use of glass fiber insulation and noise reduction materials. Another outstanding performance of this series of foam is that it has good intrinsic flame retardancy, minimal smoke and non-toxic characteristics when burning. The polyimide foam has passed the International Maritime Organization (IMO) code for flame retardancy of high-speed ships. According to the material demonstration, this series of marine foam has been used in naval ships and a large number of commercial ships in more than 15 countries in the world for heat insulation and noise reduction.
📌Compared with other thermal insulation materials currently used, such as phenolic foam, glass wool and mineral wool, the minimum density of polyimide foam products can reach 6KG/M³.
📌The thermal insulation products, such as glass fiber, glass wool or slag wool, which are widely used in the navigation field, have very big defects. First, they are very heavy. Generally, the density is dozens of times that of polyimide foam. The use of polyimide foam can reduce the weight of the hull by several tons or tens of tons, thus improving the energy economy; Secondly, the thermal conductivity is high. The thermal conductivity of polyimide foam thermal insulation material is one half or one third of the thermal conductivity of thermal insulation materials currently used on ships. The use of polyimide foam can greatly improve the thermal insulation effect of ships, pipes, cabins, etc; Thirdly, the thermal insulation products currently used have poor resilience and toughness, and slag will fall. The polyimide foam thermal insulation products have good resilience and toughness, which are unmatched by the thermal insulation products currently used on ships; Finally, polyimide foam is acid and alkali resistant, oil resistant, radiation resistant, UV resistant, hydrophobic, VOC is zero, odorless, easy to grasp, easy to install, intrinsically flame retardant, and can be customized to any shape.
📌Application:
🔸 The first battleship USN LCAC (landing hovercraft);
🔸After 15 years of service, the performance of the foam material still meets the requirements;
🔸Navy CG-47 escort missile cruiser,
🔸Each ship can reduce weight by 50 tons;
